Yahoo Messenger is a free service - you must register, download, sign up and sign INTO Yahoo and Yahoo Messenger to use this for your cam session. If you are new to Yahoo and Messenger you do need to sign up for it - and you will be prompted to chose a Yahoo ID - this does not HAVE to be your first and last name, you can choose what nickname you WISH to use on Messenger but you must have both YAHOO and YAHOO MESSENGER on your pc before doing a call if you want to see your entertainer's cam using Yahoo Messenger. If you have an old version of Yahoo and Messenger already on your pc, take a moment to ensure you have the latest version. An OLDER version of Yahoo Messenger may impact your ability to see someon's webcam.
- Be SURE you have downloaded Messenger and have successfully signed in and followed all the prompts to make sure it is up and working.
- Yahoo Messenger allows you to add contacts - and they have categories for your contacts such as friends, coworkers, etc. and you can customize your groups. When you wish to enjoy a webcam and phone call with your chosen entertainer, please be prepared to ADD her to your Yahoo Messenger contact list, and she can add you using the Yahoo ID - for example: Candyhascam@yahoo.com
- At the top of your Yahoo Messenger right below the Yahoo Messenger words are a series of functions -
- Messenger - a pull down menu opens with options that allow you to change your status from available, to busy to invisible , initiate your own webcam if you have one, and sign out
- Contacts - here is where you add a contact - click on this and you add the contact name you wish to add - for example: candyhascam@yahoo.com
- Actions - here is where you can choose to send an IM (Instant Message, send a file, invite someone to view YOUR webcam or ask to see someone else's webcam
- Help - for yahoo messenger help
- Once you are signed in and online and your Yahoo Messenger is open - you should be able to send the entertainer of your choice an Instant Message and let her know you would like to do a call with her on webcam, using Yahoo Messenger.
- Once you have this dialog established, your entertainer can Invite You to View her webcam - at this time you can allow her to see yours as well if you wish.
- You need to be prepared to pay for your session - please do NOT ask to see your entertainer on cam prior to your payment - DO NOT ASK her if you can "test" your webcam - and do not expect to take up the entertainer's time on PHONE OR ON IM with directions or instructions on how to use this service.
- Please be aware that there are many potential unknowns that CAN get in the way of a successful cam session although 98% of the time they are seamless and successful. Camera images can freeze - movement can cause this freezing - if you wait a moment usually it will unfreeze. Now and then the connection can be lost - just tell your entertainer that you lost her image and ask her to reinvite you to view. Note that when someone is viewing your webcam it will show below the image that there is 1 viewer. Also sometimes faster speed will mean diminished image quality.
- You can also use the "tool bar" at the top of your IM window: CONVERSATION, EDIT, VIEW, ACTIONS and HELP
- Click on the ACTIONS tab for a pulldown menu, which SHOULD include:
- View Webcam - this sends a request to the person you are IM'ing with to SEE their Webcam - they can say yes or no
Invite to View My Webcam - this opens YOUR cam and invites the other person to view it
- PLEASE take a few moments to be sure you are functional with Yahoo Messenger before you take up your entertainer's time.
